Power Button not working and Battery not charging

Hi all, after replacing the inverter because of a backlight problem with my Macbook, I solved the screen problem but I gained two new ones...

First one, the computer doesn't react to the power button although I can bypass it shorting the pins in the board and the mac boots up, so I need to understand how to test the keyboard/power button and figure out how to make the signal go from the button to the board.

Second problem, the battery won't charge. It shows 0% in the top bar, says "battery not charging" and Coconut shows 245 cycles Current Charge 0mAh, Max Charge 0mAh, -9.2233772e+18% and batt temp 29.8. Light on magsafe is always green with or without the battery plugged. Not sure if voltage arrives to the battery connectors, where in the battery pins to check this? Any other diagnose I can make? Is there anyway to check if it's the battery that needs replacement?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Update: Keyboard also seems not working although I must say that I connected it after making a new bypass on the power button. Not sure if it needs to be firmly attached to the case to work, does it need ground with the metal to work? Regarding the battery, test button shows no lights

Get a new keyboard cable and test it out. Battery sounds like it's kaput. I've read that they really only have a life of 300 cycles but some of mine lasted longer, some lasted less, some never worked at all. I'd just get a new battery and a new cable or keyboard assembly.
