Power button works once every x minutes

Hey people!

I received an iPhone 5 with a non-functional power button. I replaced the cable with a new one and now the phone acts weird: the power button never works except when you let the phone be for at least 2 minutes. Then, when you push it, it wakes up the device but stops responding after that.

If you wake the device with the home button after leaving it for a while you can use the power button to put it back to sleep but then it stops responding again.

I will be trying a new part next week but I wonder if anyone has seen this behavior before?

Cheers!

Johan

The completely new powerbuttonflex has the same behavior, so I assume the problem lies on the motherboard level... Nobody had this before it seems, so I think it's a death sentence for this phone. :)

I've gotten a customer recently with the same issue here is how we fixed his! We powered the device off using the power button (when it gave us the chance). then we disassembled the phone and replaced the power flex. We then inspected the connector on the board with a microscope and the connector looked good but we brushed it just in case! and reassembled the phone then connected the power flex and put capton tape down to hold it firmly down! #Fixed
