why does my phone make a noise inside when i put it on vibrate?

i dropped my iphone and the top right corner cracked open. now when i put it on vibrate a noise comes from the inside as if something was loose.is their any way i can fix it without taking it to the apple store?and if so is their a step by step way to fix it?

if your case is broken as you state, it seems obvious that there is damage even on the inside. The dropping is most likely not covered by warranty - but if you are not comfortable working on the phone I would not recommend it you try. With these things I feel, only do it if you are prepard to loose (the function of) it.

So, if you are adventurous and have a plan B - go for it, its fun.

sounds like something inside also broke loose when you dropped it. I believe the vibrate motor is mounted in the assembly containing the headphone jack. perhaps either it's mounting point is broken or something else near it is loose. You could open up your iPhone (assuming the warranty is NG anyhow) and see what's loose
