exceeded dvd drive region .

somehow i downloaded the mashita flasher and it wont work.

It says error , and no longer supported .

im trying to get a region free dvd player.

Sadly, you can only alter the optical drive so many times for the different regions (4~5 times). There is no real region free DVD optical units in the MacBook Pro systems. And not all of the optical drives Apple or use in their systems can be modified to make them region free. In fact some DVD's won't run without a set region.

At this point I suspect your internal optical drive can't be altered any more or you don't have the correct firmware for it. Basically it is was it is now. Also be aware altering the drives firmware may kill it!

Frankly, I would recommend just getting an external DVD player and set it for the other region your DVD's are from. Most people only have collections of DVD's from two regions.

Your only other hope here is replacing the internal drive with a new unit. One that can be altered.

Thank you, I am very aware about the high risks .

I guess its the firmware... And great suggestion I think I'm gonna go change the optical drive instead.
