Replace the CR1220 battery on the side of the camera. Instructions are on the site.

Same issue. Have to set date time every time camera is turned on. Here is what I found. When I put in a new cr1220 battery, even though it only fits in one way, I inserted it upside down. I only noticed this after reading this forum and noticing that the closure for the battery didn't set flush with the camera. I took it out, flipped it around and inserted it again and it did go in flush with the camera. Turned it on, reset date and time, turned it off and back on again and danced if it didn't hold my date:time.

Everytime I turn my camera on it wants me to set the time & date. When I changed a battery (CR1220) everything stays the same (camera does not set and remember time and date...)

Hi,

Did you inset the battery in the correct way? Was it a 'new' battery?

I have this problem too. I replaced the battery with a brand new battery that reads 3.24 volts unloaded. The battery only fits on way so unless you really force it you can't put it in backwards.

After replacing the problem persists. There are two contacts inside the camera that the battery touches when inserted. I suspect the contacts don't have enough spring to make a connection with the battery.

It looks to me that we are out of luck. Planned obsolescence?

Hi, Can you gently 'pry' up the contact a bit so as to increase the connection pressure when the battery is inserted? By that I mean that the battery actually pushes the contact back when it is inserted. It doesn't have to be far, it just has to push it a bit as opposed to just appearing to touch it.
