Is there an lcd screen and also a plastic screen?

I have the silver 4GB 3rd generation Ipod nano which has a crack on the screen. The display is also not showing the playlist.

Is there a screen cover and also an lcd screen or is the lcd the screen??

the lcd (liquid crystal display) is the thing that shows the funky pictures. the plastic screen is the front that protects the lcd
