Rear view mirror fell off

How do I get the cover off so I can get to the silver part that needs to be glued to the windshield. I do not want to break the cover. I have a 1998 Grand Prix, please help!!!

There usually held on by and Allen key is a small six sided screw that's sunk into a hole in the cover
