Why do some of my keys sometimes stop responding?

Hey everyone,

I'm having problems with my internal keyboard. Sometimes the letter keys in order from Q to O stop responding. I usually have to wait a little, then they start working again. The time I wait doesn't seem to be consistent though, sometimes the problem persists longer, sometimes it doesn't come up for hours.

I already tried using an external keyboard, that was working fine. I have to add that not long ago my MacBook fell down from my bed and I think the two are connected. Could it be that the connector to the logic board got loose, and if so, is there any way I could fix this myself?

Thanks a lot!

Hello rale09 I am sorry that your keyboard is acting up. As a repair technician the first thing to do is to check the easy solution first. In this case that would be an old fashion cleaning. If at all possible first try to get some compressed air and blowing the dust and debris out. If possible detach the keyboard/keys from the laptop and clean each one individually. You would be surprised how much stuff and get under those keys. Make sure that you have all the correct drivers for your laptop. It is possible that the logic board got loose but lets hope that it is the simpler solution. If not then it is possible for you to go into your laptop and check the connections and make sure that everything is ok. You can look on this site or online for a tear down of your laptop so you can check to make sure that all of the logic board connections are in place properly. I hope that this helps you and hopefully your keyboard is running like new soon
