Your whole back cover may not need to come off. Some Toshiba models if not most that don't have the RAM accessible from underneath the laptop usually have them right under the keyboard. You should see some notches on the top edge of the keyboard that will allow you to lift the keyboard up and have a peak to see if the RAM is under the keyboard frame/upper case. You might have to remove some screws on the bottom as well as on the keyboard frame/upper case to be able to work with the RAM. Sometimes it is accessible without having to remove the keyboard frame/upper case. I have not seen your particular model yet but what I laid out is based on other Toshiba laptops over the years.

I will try and find a more detailed explanation online and share it with you if you still need the help when I find it.

EDIT: If your model is anything like this Toshiba: Toshiba L50-B then it should be fairly easy for you.

Best of luck!

Thanks for checking into it for me. I've done searches but have not come up with anything on my laptop model. I looked but don't see any notches by the keyboard. Will wait and see what you come up with.
