Fridge not cold Compresor VHot 2 touch Icey freezer walls Right fixes?

Came home from vacation and my Kenmore refrigerator didn't sound quite right (running constantly and a bit louder - sounded like a bus/disel truck was running outside. Tonight found Compressor?? (Round cylindrical) very hot to touch.

I unplugged it, vaccumed the black wire coils on back, and when removed food (VERY PACKED in Freezer - found left "vent" not blowing out of 3 of the 4 openings and a little warm.

First noticed fridge items just not quite cold - getting warmer since Sunday return (today is Tuesday).

I've read many of Mayer's comments about potential problems wondered if this could help BEFORE having to call repair or purchasing new (Fridge is I think 12-14 yrs old - as out of job (and unemployment ran out) looking for best low cost solution.)

Currently: Defrosting - think there was ice within the freezer door - it's dripping. And there was quite a bit of ice on back and almost seemed like it was also inside where the air was blowing out. Odd off smell now coming from Fridge.

Doors are open and I turned to 0 on both - per a Mayer suggestion.

If coils were frozen could this fix - if I leave off for 24-48 hours? Other places I could "vaccum"? Other things I could try? And/Or are any of my symptoms sounding like something else? (NOTE: I did see the thermistor - if I do the above - how soon would I be able to tell that this was an issue after plugging back in? Or if compressor gets hot - I'd think I'd need to call repair. Also can a hot compressor catch fire?

Would love your help/advice thoughts.

THANKS!

Lets see what your results are after all the ice is out and the vents are cleared. Sounds like a possible refrigerant leak or failed thermistor. Sorry I missed this question when you posted it.
