Why isn't my proximity sensor not working?

I just got a new power and sensor cable from iFixit and installed it but now my proximity sensor isn't working (e.g. when I'm in a call the screen stays on).

Did you have a screen installed on that device at any time? the tint on the screen might be a little off and thats the problem.

I did actually but this was also a screen from iFixit and my old sensor was working with the new screen. I only change the cable cause the top mic wasn't working.
