No power when plugged on AC

I have 3 different Magsafe adapter.

None will power up my Macbook Pro 17" Unibody 2010.

I could work on it until the battery went to 0%.

Is it a battery problem, or a more difficult power problem ?

I tried reset SMC twice.

If your battery drops below about 20% the unit will not power up from just the Mag-Safe adapter. Try to get a charge into the battery. Are you getting amber lights on the adapter when trying to charge?

Thank you for your kind reply.

My battery had 852 cycles and is 55 %.

No amber light when Magsafe is plugged.

No charging of the battery (even before battery was totally discharged, I had a message on battery menu in Menu bar : Check you battery).

Problem is also that battery model seems very difficult to find.

I replaced my old 15" MacBook Pro battery with an eBay knock-off. It had a plastic rather than aluminum cover, but aside from that, worked better than the first replacement I bought directly from Apple.
