Fix iPhone error message?

iphone got wet.Dried it and it works, but I get an error message every few minutes saying "the accessory is not made to work with iphone. Would you like to turn on airplane mode"? very annoying. Also, when I get a text message there's no sound -- I've checked settings and they're correct. Any ideas how to fix both of these problems? Thanks.

That's a pretty typical problem that arises from water damage. It could be that the dock connector is fried and the rest of the phone is fine; but it could also be that the entire piece is on the fritz. Water damage is tricky to fix.

I'd start with taking a look at the dock connector though.

Probably. The speaker is integrated with the dock connector.
