I just installed a new 1T hard drive in my computer. Tried installing osx, several versions. It never lets me choose the new hard drive for installation. It has been suggested that this hard drive may be too big for my computere and simply will not work or it is a bad hard drive. Any thoughts.

The hard driveway not be formatted correctly or may be to fast. Please give us the last four figures of your Macs serial number and the make and model # of the drive you are trying to install. Also what operating system you are trying to install and how you are trying to do it.

Not sure where to find the serial number. The sticker has been removed from the back of the computer. There is more detailed info about hte computer below. I tried to installed a seagate laptop sshd 1000 gb hard drive. I tried to install osx snow leopard disk with no success. Also tried to reboot through time machine backed up on an external drive. Both times the computer would not recognize the new hard drive as a place to install. Ended up having to replace it with the old drive to get the disk out. Also tried some older operating systems. Nothing. Any thoughts?

I changed you to what I hope is the correct machine. The serial number should be in thew battery compartment.
Will it boot from the Snow Leopard (Retail version, not a gray disk) installation disk or the original system installation disk? Hold down the C key on boot.
