Does digitizer replacement require soldering?

Hello,

I cracked the digitizer on my iPad mini 3 recently and am looking at replacing it myself using ifixit's front panel digitizer and their iOpener kit. I was wondering if this process will include any type of soldering? I have researched and watched numerous repair videos and some say you do need to solder and some say you don't. The digitizer appears to have all the connectors pre-installed, so I'm really hoping that no soldering is involved. Can anyone confirm this?

Also any tips and advice for a successful repair would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

No soldering is required if you buy the part with the Home Button IC module pre-soldered (slightly more expensive but well worth the time saved!)

The link you posted to the digitizer appears to have the Home Button IC pre-soldered so you should be all good to go , no soldering required :)
