Is this what's making my screen replacement not work?

Hello,

I recently sent my phone in to have the screen replaced because it was cracked, however, the repair shop called me a few days later and told me there was a problem with my phone and that it would not turn on.

I took the phone home, opened it, no water damage that i could spot, etc. But there were a couple of missing (bent?) pins on the lighting connector socket on the logic board. And when I plug my phone to the computer it's recognized by itunes but all it does is vibrate and beep in short intervals. Again, no screen working

I also tried connecting the screen from a 100% working iphone 5, and it still wont turn on.

Thanks for the all the responses guys, I think I'll just try to get the connector replaced, and if that doesn't work I'll get the 7 when it comes out

andres, looking at the the images you posted. You are absolutely right and it is not a filter choke damage. The connector is missing at least three contacts, possibly even one more. Unless you get someone to replace that connector it may be very difficult to get it working. Just as an FYI the connector is a AXE860124 model

Was it working beforehand? That repair shop should be responsible for the damage they caused.

Most likely they knocked off a choke near the LCD connector on the board, it is fairly common on the iPhone 5.

I'm pretty sure the repair shop is responsible, but I'd rather not deal with them again.

Yes, it was working perfectly beforehand. Could the lighting connector socket be responsible?, It's the only visibly broken part

Andres i got the same problem but i changed the motherboard and it all came on and fully working as i changed the usb port and it came with everything thats on the bottom if iphone like speaker flex cable and like in your pic the circle on the bottom pic all that was changed and all worked but i wanted orignal logic board in but the lcd chip plug on the logic board end at the top of logic board i had some bends in the lcd plug and when i put all back together it came up on computer saying put passcode in to julies phone(the lady that gave me the phone) but there was nothing on the screen on the phone but it kept vibrating then beeping and other and other so i took that logic board out and put spare 1 in and screen came on and i restored the whole lot as it was locked with passcode and when restored it was all on everything worked fantastic apart from making calls in or out but i did break the sim from my iphone 4s down to size to go in iphone 5s ao im thinking it might be that but i do want to get the orignal logic board fixed as all it needs is a plug lcd chip removed and new 1 put on which only cost £3 for the part,i would do myself but i want this logic board to go back in as the phone was only weeks old b4 dropped down toilet and put in drawer for 8 months completly dead but now revived.hope this helps.coco

Hi Andres,

If replacing the connector doesn't work take the black tape off from the area where the screen and digitizer are plugged in and see if you can notice any knocked off or damaged components.
