Why is my screen dim?

I have replaced the inverter, and the inverter-eye sight cable, but to no avail. Is the problem the LCD, or is it the video card? Is there any why to replace a video card on this model? Or could the problem be something else? Also what is the other cable that is on the other side of the inverter? Could that cable be the problem? Please help!

Answer this question I have this problem too

did you check the ambient light sensor settings for the screen?

go to System Preferences-->Displays and see if the "automatically adjust brightness as ambient light changes" box is unchecked.

the "video card" has nothing to do with the brightness of the screen - and by the way - did you set the backlight to 100% ??

to answer the last question - no, i don't think that this could be a cable issue. if it's not a software issue - i would say that the CCFL bulb is faulty (since you already replaced the inverter)

How do I fix that? Is it the screen?

did you check the other points ? if it's the CCFL bulb - you NORMALLY have to change the screen. but i would try to find a broken screen with a working backlight. surely you have to be careful - but i did this a few times and it works without a problem
