I have had many problems with this laptop losing screws over the few years I've owned it, and cant seem to find any reference material that covers what type of screws are used.

Since you didn't state the exact model number, here are the service manuals for an IdeaPad U310 / U310 Touch, IdeaPad S310 and an IdeaPad 310-151KB.
The screw sizes are listed in the manuals next to the appropriate components.
