Disassembly help, I want to replace my battery

I will be opening my m7 for the third time in the next week or two. This time to replace the battery (plus charging port and bottom speaker).

I've ordered some 300lse tape to hold the battery in place. But I also know the silver emi cloth tape and the black tape - which holds the cables in place - are quite worn and losing their stickiness. Are these tapes particularly specialized? How necessary would it be to replace them?

Further, do I need to separate the display from the case (HTC One Teardown step 3) in order to replace the battery?

Unfortunately, the only way in to the original M7 is through the display. I'm not sure about the tape, but this battery guide should help a little bit. Good luck!
