Can I use LOCA glue on all Samsung Galaxy S-Models?

Hello everybody.

I made bad experiences with using LOCA-Glue on iPhone LCDs, because the Glue runs between the LCD and Backlight, making the Backlight unusable.

Will I have the same issues with Samsung or other Android devices (like Sony Xperia or HTC) or can I easily use LOCA-Glue on them without worrying to ruin the LCD-Module?

Kind regards

Theres quite a bit more to it than this but the short answer is yes, you can do a loca repair on most any galaxy series phone because of the way the display is built. Other manufactures of phones aren't as easy because the digitizer is a part of the glass.

Nearly all the samsung displays are amoled and not lcd technology. only a few exceptions to this. Because of that there is no backlight to damage. On an iphone, you should have removed the backlight prior to attempting to do a loca repair on it. Also you should be using an appropriate amount of loca that you don't make a giant mess of it to clean up later. Using too much damages the displays and problems will come up later, much like water damage, especially if you are doing them in the frame. Not to mention the giant mess you make then have to clean. The other side of that is don't use too little and not have adequate coverage/thickness. There's no formula or list of how much to use on what, everyone eyeballs it and learns from experience.

The sony and HTC devices can go somewhere and rot as far as I'm concerned...

Yup, had this too. A handy tip is to work under a red safe light or you may have issues with glue prematurely setting. I also found that if you have damaged ribbon cable, once display is off the front glass it can be swapped with a ribbon from a broken led but the alignment is very critical as is placement of z axis tape. The value of the glass especially oled can be substantial even with bad cable! !! There are even sites you can send dead screens and they will recycle the good parts.
