Wifi is "grayed" out. How to fix?

My mothers Ipod Touch's backlight died recently, so I ordered a LCD replacement and Digitizer/Glass/Bezel/Midframe from Ebay ( the later was needed due to myself cracking the glass while opening the device).

However, after the repair (which was successful)...

IT basically says "No Wifi" next to Wifi in settings. It's grayed out. I've tried restoring it... etc...

Is there anything hardware wise i can check for this? or even software?

I'm currently having this problem and would also be curious to know if it was ever figured out? I have a 3rd generation iPod Touch 16GB that recently started to indicate "no wi-fi" (greyed out) in settings. No resetting, or software updating seems to fix the issue. I'm ready to open it up, but not sure what to look for.

I having the same problem. my ipod touch 2nd gen has grey out wifi i tried everything and it wont work no matter what i do... help?
