I want to replace my hard drive in my late 2012 21" iMac and wanted to know if I can use the same instructions for opening up the iMac shown in the video.

The 2012 21.5" iMac's use a 2.5" SATA III (6.0Gb/s) hard drive {Laptop} unlike the larger 27" models which use a 3.5" drive.
The newer 'Thin Series' are harder to open and you need to use the correct tools and technique to remove the display otherwise you risk damaging it.
