My iPod screen is dead (it fell in the water)

a week ago my ipod touch 3g fell in the water (pool) for like 5 seconds. The first day i serveral times was trying to turn the device on but nothing happend the screen was still was black, i also tried to charge it but i think that was a little stupid from me. 2 hours later i tried to turn it on and i saw the apple logo on a very low brightness but then it became black again. it was laying for a 5 days in a bag with rice. Now if i charge my ipod i hear a noise from the ipod that its charging and itunes can read it but it has an passcode on it so i cant acces it and if i hold the home button and the power button it makes a screenshot and if i hold it longer it will become in DFU mode cause itunes wont read it so please can someone help me to fix it. (sorry for my bad english)

i think that the only chance to save it, is to clean the ipod.

get some isopropyl alcohol with more than 90% and a soft paintbrush

disassemble the ipod and clean the logicboard and all connectors. let it dry (no hair dryer!) then reassemble it and try to power it on, it's possible that the water toasted some parts and the ipod is "dead" or only fixable by a professional!
