My problem is the FOB and trunk button within the vehicle cannot open the trunk, i do not believe the actuator is receiving power or it could be a faulty actuator. the thing is i hear no noise from the actuator when pressing the button. i'd like to know.. Is this a commonly documented problem and if so what were solution.

You should open it by key.Then check the actuator if it gets any power at all.And then dismantle it and check the wiring.Either the wires are busted either the actuator.My bet is on actuator jack might be busted.So change the pines respecting the colors and it should be ok.
