OWC puts out a SSD for PATA systems. It is an adapter board that comes with a standard SATA - SSD drive. As far as I know they are the only ones right now. It works fine in system 10 and you can run System 9 in Classic mode. But You will lose the ability to boot directly into system 9. I noticed a significant increase in performance with this drive. Problems come in when using dual drives as you have to go back to working with ID conflicts. The documentation is poorly written and it's obvious that the inventor was not a technician as screw holes are really not in the right positions and the board adds to the length of the overall drive when it does not have to. This may cause issues when installing into a limited hard drive space.

You may be able to upgrade to an SSD but you won't notice much if any difference due to the slow processor inside.

Not to a G4, but to roughly equivalent systems.

Stick to questions you have experience with because you're just guessing here.
