Dual drive kit DIY Fusion Drive SSD placement upper or lower bay

I want to utilize the OWC dual drive kit to install a SSD in my late 2012 mac mini. I intend to format the two drives as a core storage volume to create a DIY Fusion Drive. Is there a recommended position for the SSD?

I have heard that some have experienced issues in models that did not ship with a fusion drive option, 2012 and earlier. Since my machine is a late 2012 and was available to purchase with a fusion drive, can I place the SSD in the upper bay, or should I swap the HHD from the lower bay and replace with the SSD?
