capacitor replacement? Or Can I live without?

I accidentally busted one of the small capacitors on my 5s motherboard. Can I live without it? or do I need it? If I need it, what kind is it, and can I just take another brown one from a old ps3 motherboard? (Its one of the ones by the chip with the apple symbol (not the A7) On the same side as the apple symbol.)

Ed Dugan, the part in the circle (supposedly your mark;-) is reference designator C293 which is a 15uF 4V 20% capacitor in a 402 package. It is part of your charger/buck converter circuitry. You will need it to filter/smooth the line voltage. Colors etc. from another circuit board really do not mean anything since SMD components are not marked. Unless you have smart tweezers etc. to measure the parts to ensure that they have the proper value, there is no way to know. Of course if you have the schematic of the PS3 and know which part is identical, then it will be ok. You can get a hand full of these for few $ at most electronic supply places. Check Mouser.com or Digikey.com.

So would this be what I'm searching for? https://www.digikey.com/product-search/e...

The one you linked to has the wrong values. You are looking more at something like this

Which component is it? Look for the name on the board view.

The chip it's by is the "338S1216-A2 135EH86" and its shiny with an apple logo on it. I broke one of the capasitors closest to the logo.

That is too broad to pinpoint. Look up the schematic and board view on the internet, and see what the name of the component is.

https://d3nevzfk7ii3be.cloudfront.net/ig... It's one of the capacitors on the right side of the chip with the apple logo.

Ed Dugan, how about using a paint program to add an arrow or any other mark on the component that you are inquiring about? That will help Jason Gan to help you.
