When i open my macbook screen it shows a display for about 2 secs then backlight goes off and i can faintly see the display... Now and again the backlight will stay on but its once in a blue moon and hard to get it to stay on but once i close the screen or turn power off then it goes back to faded??? I have been told its the inverter but id rather a proffessional opinion? Thanks

It most likely is the inverter. To check the inverter cable, move the screen back and forth and see if the screen changes.
