Why does my computer beep when I turn it on?

i downloaded from dell. drivers i thought my computer needed now when i turn it on the dell icon comes on and then a beep stays on no picture or anything? please help

How many beeps? One only? What drivers did you try to install?

the beep stays on when i turn the computer on. not sure what drivers i was downloading. i downloaded windows 10 the other day and it kept telling some drivers were out dated so thats when i went to dell,com i wish i didnt now ugh

redd3865, 1 beep is the error code for "BIOS ROM checksum in progress or failure" which is indicative of either a System board failure, covers BIOS corruption or ROM errors. You may have tried to install an invalid driver for your BIOS etc. you will have to give us more details on what you did before we can be of more help.

i was trying to download drivers from the dell site i kept getting old drivers so thats what i did and after that is when the beep started and it stays on till i turn it off.

yeah when i went on dell.com. i wish i didnt now. not sure which ones they were tho.
