21,5>27" lcd panel compatibility
Will a 21,5 imac lcd panel work attached to a 27 imac board?

Not that simple! Apple has a few different display types (different signaling) so depending on what you have for a combo here it may end up damaging your system. Besides people tend to put the correct part in.

Hi,
thank you for your answer. I would love to put the right part in but I don't have the space. I bought an A1419(i7, GTX780) in pieces and assemble it into a 19" mobile rack. The 27" lcd is too big for the lid of the rack that's why I'm interested if a 21,5" panel will work.
In that case just use a external display using DisplayPort to the Thunderbolt port of the system. Forget the internal connection.
I'm writing this using that setup but it was worth a question. Thank you for your time.
