What RAM chips are recommended for upgrade?

I have the Santa Rosa chip set on my machine, I can safely upgrade to 6 ram chips. What chips are recommended ? I have 2.0 ghz processor

Hi! I would go to the iFixit Parts Store and enter the model number of your machine, at which point it will display all the relevant upgrades, and any memory you see should work. Your model number is under your machine in the text at the center-top, and it should be something like "A1181".

Actually, assuming you do have an A1181 Santa Rosa (definitely still verify, just to be sure), here is the memory that comes up:

The problem is that there's a discrepancy with Apple. Apple says that my machine can only be upgraded to 4mb of RAM.I have an early 2009 Model of (A1181). This site says I can upgrade to six. Dont know what to do. I checked this site and i came up with the same results you provided but Apple says the machine can only upgrade to 4MB. What to do?

If it were me I'd try the 6GB. More than once I've installed more memory than Apple recommended with good results. Ralph
