I can't get my keyboard working I have really had a hard time getting the connection in place so now my connection has worn and the ribbon is getting all scratched up due to me trying to insert the cable far enough to lock down. The ribbon is THE connection for the keyboard. If it is not connected it will not work. It is a tricky ribbon. I usually use a plastic spudger behind the ribbon to help it get curved and then push it in with another spudger. Make sure to not damage the ribbon or the connector. Ribbon damage means new keyboard and connector damage means motherboard repair.

Hmmm dam I'm mad at myself learning another expensive lesson I believe the ribbon is damaged then, so I'll replace the keyboard the one thing I didn't want to do. Thank you for helping me geez I hope my mbp runs after this.

Post a picture. Don't beat yourself up its just a keyboard ;) I've seen those ribbons go through a lot, it might be just fine you might just need to plug it in right :)
