Digitizer not responding after replacing with working screen/digitizer

Hi peeps,

I have received one iphone 5c which powers up, but doesn't respond when swiping to unlock.

I have another iphone 5c that has a working screen/digitizer, so I've taken this and replaced it with the non-responsive one. Same issue occurs - can't swipe to unlock.

Does anyone have any idea as to what could be causing this? Could it be a duff connector on the main board?

I'm pretty sure the phone may have been water damaged.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

It is likely a board level issue, maybe a short or an issue with the U3. The digitizer connector would usually still allow the touchscreen to have limited responsiveness.

Dave C , this can be caused by a bad digitizer connector. As you can see the connector lacks metal ends and this is what makes it a weak connector. It is easily possible to damage the connector by mis-aligning the digitizer connector

like this. Check the ends of the connector. The plastic of the connector has been compressed into the connector, causing it to flare out and preventing from making proper contact.

I ended up fixing this in the end.

All it needed was a couple of minutes in the ultrasonic cleaner and and good brush with IPA.

I'm pretty sure it was the contacts on the board that were the problem.

Thanks for your suggestions
