Can I replace an iPhone 5s lcd with an iPhone 5 lcd

I dropped my iPhone 5s in the toilet and now the screen is very very dim but the phone still works. is there anyway I could use iPhone 5 parts to replace what isn't working in the iPhone 5s?

No, the LCD and digitizer connectors are completely different from a 5 to a 5S. Actually, nothing between the two is really cross-compatible. You'll need a new 5s screen.

could it possible something other than the LCD that is making my screen dim or is the LCD and digitizer the only things that have to do anything with the lighting of the phone?

There is several fuses and coil for the backlight on the motherboard, they could be damaged or shorted out from the water. It could be the LCD, it could be the board. You won't know until you try a new screen on it.

If it is the backlight problem, you will see a very faint apple logo when you turn on the phone. If it does the same thing on a different LCDs then for sure its the backlight and there are cheap services out there (ebay) that can replace them

It might be the backlight as masterminds irepairs mentioned but don't look for cheap repairs. Look for quality repairs
