Screen mostly black. Should I replace the LCD panel or only digitizer?

Hey there, I have an LG Optimus L70. I cracked my screen fairly badly, but was able to continue using it with no issues. I put a screen protector and case on it to prevent further cracks and keep the glass together/from cutting anyone and that seemed to do the trick. Unfortunately... a couch landed on it. Yes a couch. And that turned the screen partially black. As in, a line right down the middle of the screen, half visible, half black. While messing with it, attempting to move my pictures/contacts to another phone, more of the screen turned black, and now there is only a thin column of screen visible. The entire screen still functions though. If I hold the same model next to it and guess where the buttons are, I still get the sound/vibration feedback from touching the buttons, and I can see that it goes to the correct apps. (opening the camera for instance)

My question is, does this mean I only need to replace the glass digitizer? Or do I need to replace the LCD panel also?

Thank you! ^_^

You definitely need to replace the LCD as well as the digitizer. LCD is responsible for display/image and digitizer is responsible for touch.

hope this helps!
