Maytag washer LAT9200AAW Won't agitate, spin, or drain.

The washer will fill and after that simply stops. I tried changing to spin and cycling the power. The agitator never starts, and the drum never drains.

talveren, this could be something as simple as the door lid switch to something as bad as a burned out motor. What have you checked? This is a belt driven agitator etc. have you taken a look underneath to see what's going on?

by

I looked at the belts, and they appear ok. I'd guess they got replaced sometime before we bought it because there's no rot at all and the tensions seem correct. I took out the switch assembly, and we're going to test the components tomorrow with a multi meter. I've looked over the pump, but haven't taken it apart since I don't think a failed pump would keep the agitator from working. It seems to be fine.

You are right. the pump would not. It could easily be the lid switch.

components for the switch assembly all test fine. I'm right in thinking it's the drive motor now aren't I?
