Screen repair gone horribly wrong

Hi,

So I went to change a cable in my macbook and ended up cracking the screen so went for a complete replacement of the screen, while pulling out the screen I also ended up scratching this film like layer behind the screen guessing its some kind of magnify layer which i was semi fine with but i used a cleaning product to clean it up when going to put it back and the whole thing has pretty much turned opaque white which isn't good.

However I cannot find anywhere where I can purchase this layer, I'm guessing my terminology is just wrong in what I am searching for, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
