iPhone 5s logic board EMI SHIELD

Hello Everyone...

I cant connect my iPhone to my computer and problem is with USB control IC chip and I was wondering that if it is possible to solder the EMI Shield back into place with a heat gun after removing it .

Please someone help

John Smith, I am not quite following you with this. Yes you can resolder the EMI shield, but use a soldering iron versus a hot air gun. You will have better control over the heat than you would with a hot air gun. My confusion is with the shield and the connection of the USB control IC....Any problem with that IC will not be related to the EMI shields

Thank you for the quick response. Your right but i have to remove the EMI shield to get to the USB control IC which is located near the processor.

Can you please tell how to resolder it back into place

Depends on how you took the shields off. If you used a hot air station to remove it, you should be able to resolder it at the same solder points. If you did not and you cut it off or removed it by other means, you could try to mate some points or leave the shield of altogether.

John Smith, how did you get the EMI shield back on? Oldturkey will leaving the EMI shield off altogether affect how the phone works?
