How to disable touchpad feature

I have a Toshiba laptop model S75-A. Whenever I move my mouse pointer rapidly (i.e. with almost a jerk) using my touchpad from right to leftwards, I get the time/date and the settings/power etc pop up on the screen which I have to override everytime. I know it is a standard feature, supposed to be helpful, but for me its very annoying and unhelpful. How can I disable this feature?
