ACER ASPIRE 4330 laptop won't turn on

AC charger lights up from amber to green, push on button and power button flashes and both lights go out. did the 30 second esd dissipate thing also. with battery power only, the power light flashes on and off for a half second. with no battery and just AC power there is no battery light and the power status button flashes for a half sec and then nothing. Either way, battery in or out, I cannot press the on button again and have anything show on the lights. I have to remove the AC charger plug to get the battery charge light or power light to work again. Ideas?
