Home button won't work

Hi,

My homebutton is acting weird.

If I press the homebutton nothing works, even if I press it really hard.

If I short the 2 golden things inside the homebutton works, if I replace the homebutton + charging + ... flex the homebutton works perfectly but than my charging doesn't work?

Also sometimes I need to plug my charging cable a couple times in with the same pressure, the same way?

How?

If you short the 2 gold prongs and the home button function works, and those prongs are not broken or "flattened" down, all you need to replace is your home button flex cable which is attached to the back of the screen.

Why would you want to replace the charging dock?

Still if you do, and the new one doesn't charge, it could simply be a defective part.

As for pushing hard inwards, it could be that the charging port is dirty such as clogged with lint. Try to clean it gently first by scraping with a toothpick then use a toothbrush dipped in isopropyl alcohol (90%+), then test again. Or try a different charge/sync cable.
