Powered on briefly and showed initializing memory and will not turn on

Has new battery( both backup and main ). After charging until the light turned green and replacing the backup battery I turned the device on and it started up long enough to display a message saying " initializing memory " and then it shut off. Now it will not power back on. Any ideas ?
