How to make screen flat? (so home button will work)

Hello,

this is the second time i have replace my sisster's screen on her 5c. Everything works but, it doesn't seem like the screen is flat enough to the surface. When you hit her home button it doesn't work. You have to squeeze the phone in tighter in that area then hit the button. I have made sure everything is connected and the screen is as far down as it can go. Is there away to fix this? Am i doing something wrong?

I checked everything and even loosened the switch...no help. The battery is fine. The button still only works if you squeeze the bottom.

Before you order a new battery, check first in the corners at the bottom of the phone and along the sides. Is anything sitting down inside the bottom corners of the phone or along the sides that would not allow the screen to sit down properly? There can often be a screw sitting in there to hold the screen up. Are the screws that hold the metal shield to the back of the LCD in all the way? Check the two metal prongs on the dock assembly that connect to the home button, are they bent out of shape? If the last screen was laying down flat, then so should this one.

Besides the answer above, which could be a cause of the screen popping up, if you can not press the button in, this can be due to poor replacement screens, try loosening the screws to the home button just a little so that the button can press down. :-)

Hey,

If you did everything right with the screen seated correctly, the reason why the screen doesn't go down all the way is because the battery is defective a swollen. you can take the screen off and see the battery might not be complete flat and is causing the screen to be pushed up.
