What do I need to replace?

I have an iPad 4 and the screen has been smashed on one side close to the corner. Cracks run across the screen, and there is one crack running from an edge to an adjoining edge, basically 'disconnecting' one corner from the rest of the screen. At first the whole touch screen would work but now this corner doesn't respond to touch. Please could you tell me if the whole screen needs replacing, or if just replacing the glass would repair this issue?

Answer this question I have this problem too

You will need to replace the digitizer which is the glass and touch portion of the iPad. If the image is not distorted then the LCD should be OK.
