Faulty screen - black line going across screen possibly from heat

Believe I may have left my heated straighteners resting on my kindle,as there is a black line about an inch thick going horizontically from side to side,, which does not move when I turn the kindle around. On top of this black line is lines of green red and blue, any suggestions

Options

Jackie, since we cant see what you see (consider posting an image of your screen with your question) it could be possible that you burned the digitizer and/or LCD. In that case you have to replace both. You'll find the guide for it right here
