Componenet Identification on A1278 logic board

Could someone help me identify this component. It has not affected the useability of my laptop, but did cause the laptop to shut down and a puff of smoke came out and then it rebooted back up and has worked for weeks. But would like to fix it before stops working

Chris Nyberg, that is reference designator C6603 which is a 100uF 6.3V 20% tantalum capacitor in a AL1 case. It is part of the speaker amp circuitry.

Awesome. Thank you.

So is there a picture of the logic board out there that shows the area of the components? Or how do you go thru the schematic and actually find that component? Is the designator actually shown somewhere on the board or do you have a actual picture is what it comes down to?

by

Board views show the components' placement and their names. Once you put a name/designation on your component, you find the details about it in the schematic .

What board views? Is it software or a website?

by

It is software. Google for the schematic by your logic boards 820-XXXX number. then check to make sure that the seller offers the boardview with it.
