Why is my iPhone4 shuttingdown even if it is fully charged?

My iPhone 4 will shut down for no reason and then wont turn on unless I plug the charger. Even when it turns on it shuts down again if I unplug it from the charger. I have tried restarting it and holding the + volume button. I have tried restarting it and holding the home button. I have tried everything. please help because i just spent $80 on service and I don't want to spend any more.

You need a new battery.

Purchase a good quality one from a reputed seller. Don't buy a cheap battery off of eBay or Amazon, you'll soon have the same issue.

If (unlikely but possible) you still encounter the same issue after battery replacement, let us know and we'll take it from there.

There are guides on iFixit that show you step by step how to replace the battery. Those guides also have links to the needed tools and (good quality) parts.

If the service you had done included a battery replacement, then explain your issue and request a new battery. Defective batteries are a dime a dozen and often even the best repair shops sell and install bad batteries without noticing until the client complains.
