screen replacement for ipad mini 3

My ipad mini 3 screen has cracked and the touch ID for the home button still works fine

I want to know if replacing the screen would affect the touch ID of the home button.

not must to replace the button but it recommended, because your button got wreck accidental in the near future. You must replace the screen again. Usually the kits what you can buy for example on ebay include a new home button and a screen or tp too

according to ifixit store, the touchID feature of the pad only works with the original pad , so i wanted to ask the fixers here if they av had any experience with this issue as regards replacing home buttons of mini3 pad. does the touchID still work after replacing it?

You need to transfer the home button from your original screen, to the new screen, and then your touch ID will still work. I have replaced the iPad Mini 3 screen, and had no problems transferring the original button.

If you replace the home button with a new one, then You would lose touch ID functionality.
