Green light will not turn on

so i fixed my ylod problem on my 1st gen (fat model) for the second time but noticed i had a problem starting games and netflix and noticed the blu ray drive ribbon wasnt connected to the motherboard completely so i went back in and ended up breaking the blu ray drive ribbon clip to the motherboard.

the problem i have now is the ps3 will have power and show the red light but when i press the start button on the ps3 or even the controller i cannot get the green light to turn on and actually start the ps3. also the eject button beeps (because i already have a disc in it) when i press it so i know that it senses that button is being pressed even though the drive isnt connected.

i may have stipped the memory card ribbon because i dropped thetop case while it was still connected, which i dont think would stop it it from starting but i really dont know.

once i fix this starting issue im sure it will work but if anybody has had experience with this problem or knows anything can you please help?
