If your machine is less than a year old, it's still under warranty. Take it back to your nearest Apple store and make them fix it!

I hope this helps!

The battery on my Macbook Air died completely after about a year and a half. I believe that being fully discharged helped kill it. Word to the wise -- plug the computer in when you get the warning window saying the battery is low; don't wait until the computer conks out on its own.

Incidentally, I used the instructions at ifixit.com to replace the battery ( MacBook Air Models A1237 and A1304 Battery Replacement ) -- and it was a pretty darn easy fix. The only big challenge is keeping track of all of the screws.
